Nearly two years in the making, ScreenPlay has gone through the rigors of creation. From the careful assembly of its core foundations to repeated rewrites, to successful alpha testing using the upcoming and ultimate version of the rules, High Plains Samurai, we’ve done everything we can with this game up to this point. As a universal system intended to allow anyone to do anything they want with it, the only way to ensure it stands a fighting chance of doing exactly that is to unleash it on the world and let all of you play.

Yet we’re looking to upgrade your standard playtest games. The Rehearsal Edition is an ongoing process taking place over the course of sixteen weeks that will see this very document grow with every response we receive. Ah, but here’s the trick: how do we ensure feedback? It’s easy to throw a playtest version online and hope for the best, but we want to incentivize it, give you a reason to read, play, and direct.

Inside the original version of ScreenPlay: The Rehearsal Edition and additional updates taking place from now until January 29, 2016, you’ll find three types of online surveys using Google Forms: one for anyone who has read through this version without playing, another for anyone who has played as a Writer, and the last for anyone who has played as a Director. Completing these forms provides you with playtest points to track the level at which you contribute to the betterment of the game. Plus you can earn bonus playtest points for sharing links on social media to help us find others looking to lock this game down.

While the details found below are the same as those found in every version of the Rehearsal Edition, they’re provided below as a preview for anyone considering taking that next step. If you have any question, comment below or go to our ScreenPlayers Guild on G+ and see what the fuss is about.
